What to expect from us, and what we expect from you:
Rental deposits
A $10 deposit, per rental item, is required for all gear reservations. This deposit is paid at the time of booking and is non-refundable. If you choose to cancel your reservation, you will receive store credit good for up to 5 years from the time of booking.
Shuttles
Each shuttle price includes a $5 per person non-refundable booking fee. If you choose to cancel your reservation, you will receive store credit, good for up to 5 years from the time of booking.
Trips
If you decide to cancel your trip, you will be given store credit towards rental equipment or another guided trip, good for up to 5 years from the time of booking.. Weather conditions do not permit clients to cancel trips unless ZAC determines conditions make the trip unsafe, at which point we will reschedule or offer a full refund.
Damage policy
You are responsible for the items that you and your group rent from Red Coyote Cyclery (RCC) for the duration of your rental. To that end, item 2 of our rental agreement states: ‘I acknowledge full and sole responsibility for the use, care, and return of this gear, whether used by myself or use shared with another.’
If RCC property is damaged out on a ride and returned to the shop, we will ask you for payment of that item at our wholesale price +labor to replace it. If the damaged property is lost or not returned we will ask for full MSRP+labor. Our labor rate is $60/hr.
We also recognize normal wear and tear that is associated with desert riding such as goat heads which may pop a tube. RCC accommodates one tube replacement per group. Similarly, we recognize that if you crash into a bush, you may scratch the paint-we consider this normal wear and tear. But if the bike tumbles down a rocky section of trail we may have to charge for the time to fix this up or replace a section of frame or damaged components.
In the rare instances where damage occurs to our property due to a rental we pledge to make every effort to be fair in these instances. At the end of the day RCC asks that above all else you choose your own well being over that of a bike. Bikes and their components are replaceable, you are not.
Optional damage waiver
Bikes are fun but can become expensive in a hurry if you crash. RCC offers a damage waiver that covers a bike up to $750 + any labor costs for $5/bike so that you can focus on the fun parts of riding. If you opt-in for this waiver, it must be purchased for each bike in a group. For example, if six people rent bikes that group will pay $30 and each bike will be covered to $750 of damage. This waiver is only available before you leave for your ride and does not cover lost, stolen, or missing items.
